CNA or Resident Aide - PT (.4) Overnights

Village Woods, our Assisted Living and Retirement Community in Crete is seeking a part time CNA OR Resident Aide for our overnight (10pm-6am) shift to deliver exceptional care to its residents and to provide an excellent overall quality of life.

The purpose of this role is to provide assistance with activities of daily living to assigned clients in accordance with the client’s plan of care developed by the nursing manager, client and family members.

Responsibilities include assisting with dressing and undressing, nail care, changing bed linens, toileting, walking with or without self-help devices, light cleaning, laundry services and assistance with medication reminders.

Provide companionship and promote resident’s independence.

Summary of essential job functions :

• Assist with the admissions process and greet residents and family members.
• Provide family style care to the residents, being one of the family .
• Responsible for cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc.
• Make fluids and snacks available between meals and at bedtime.
• Assist in toileting, bathing, and daily grooming of assigned residents.
• Support and represent the mission of Providence as shown by your actions while on duty.
• Maintain a calm, pleasant living environment for the residents.
• Document changes in medical condition to the appropriate nurses on duty.
• Give and receive shift reports to ensure consistent medical care is delivered.
• Measure and record vital signs as necessary or instructed.

Requirements

• Must have completed a C.N.A. program that is accredited and completed the competency exam for the State of Illinois.
• Must have a compassionate, empathetic and nurturing personality.
• Must truly have a desire to care for the elderly.
• Previous experience in long-term care is a plus.
• Must be CPR certified.

Resident Aide experience is a plus.
